Here We Go, Thrashers, Here We Go! *Hiccup*

So there I am in Philips Arena Saturday night, attending the final home game of the Atlanta Thrashers, hanging out with a friend of mine in our semi-winter wear for hockey, when there she comes - THE DRUNK FAN.
Fortunately her seats were in front of us, away from the projection of her very... loud... voice. People all around us could not help but turn and look, as she took the spotlight away from the Thrashers in our section. Luckily she was on our side, and a die-hard Atlanta fan. Welcome to Blueland.
Her friends seemed not to notice how loud or drunk she was, until she went to get yet another beer. We were clued into their discomfort as they whispered, "Uh oh, here she comes," upon her return.
I found that not looking her in the eye was key. Almost like in class when your teacher wanted someone to answer her question, if I didn't see her she didn't see me. My friend even complimented her voice during the second period, expressing admiration that she was not yet hoarse by this point, and I panicked. Why on earth was she trying to get her to turn around and look at us with a full period left in the game?!? But she didn't hear my friend, and seemed solely concerned about what was going on on the ice. Whew.
Good thing the Thrashers won and she left celebrating their victory.
Too bad the 2nd game wasn't as good at the first.

It's nice to know there's other women in Atlanta that enjoy hockey! But, CRAP, was I the "drunk fan" you were talking about? JK! Go Thrash, Falcs, & Braves!
