TwitterGuilt

My mother underwent successful open heart surgery earlier this week, and as thankful as I am for the way things turned out I was afraid I could have jinxed the procedure with one thing - Twitter.

I give Jeff Dauler credit for introducing me to Twitter (@MelissaCarter) over a year ago.  I signed up for it, but quite honestly forgot about it.  I knew Jeff Twittered and saw-then Senator Obama Twittered on the campaign trail, but still didn't dedicate time to doing it.  But as more listeners signed up to follow me, I felt the obligation to report something.

Since I wasn't calling into the show on Monday to give updates on the progress of Mom's procedure, I decided that would be the time to Twitter and let people know what was going on.  But I then wondered if that would be appropriate, and if it were would I give bad vibes to Mom.

But my plan was to blog about the day after-the-fact, so what would be the difference with Twitter? That is what helped me decide to Twitter the day, and the following day, and so far it has not had a negative effect on what's going on.  But I will say there is still a twinge of TwitterGuilt for what seems like exploiting a very private thing.
