I Hope Marvel Won't Mind My Naming of the Embryos
Ladies and Gentleman, I introduce to you the Fantastic Four. I got the news today that of the 7 eggs we retrieved, 5 were mature enough for fertilization. Of those 5, the above 4 successfully began to grow. And now these microscopic ones are in the freezer ready for use whenever Katie Jo and I decide we are ready to go.
One of the last things Katie said to me last night, before we knew the outcome, was that this was the most I was going to contribute to the biological part of motherhood. Since I am a kidney transplant recipient and in my 40s, we have decided not to risk my health in carrying any children. Not that I couldn't do it, but since we have other options why risk the kidney that has allowed me to even try any of this? Thinking about Katie's comments, I am proud to have done my part. Even if none of these survive a pregnancy I did my best and they have, and will do, their best too. Excelsior!
So, this Mother's Day if anyone decides to knit an extra mini-scarf, I'm sure my little ones would appreciate them. *brrrr* They are superheroes, of course.

That's awesome!!
