My Twilight Commencement Speech

I know many times you hear us adults start giving you advice on life and you tune out, since according to you we cannot relate to what it's like to face a very intimidating future. So, I have decided to base this commencement speech on what you can relate to - Twilight.
*insert Twilight music here *
That's right, TwiHards, here is your graduation. And I see you as Bella and the world as Forks, Washington.
See you're new to town, you're apprehensive, it's even hard to see clearly in this rainy foggy town. But you have an instinct of what you want out of life - Edward.
But I want you to see Edward not as a mate but as a job. From the first moment you saw him you knew there was something unique in this job, this goal you had set out for yourself. But he intimidates you and you feel unworthy of him. What if you aren't telented enough or experienced enough to work for his company? He seems eager to take you on as an employee, but he - let's call him Edward, Inc. - also knows you aren't mature enough to dedicate your entire self to this profession - just yet.
What you have to understand is that you must pay your dues when you're just starting out. So as Bella, you take on that first job that doesn't pay as well at - let's call it Jacob, Enterprises. There you get some experience but don't really get your hands dirty. You put in your time with Jacob until the company is bought out by a new owner - we'll call that new corporation Wolf United.
Understanding yourself enough to know you don't agree with the new policies of the new company you decide to once again apply to Edward Inc., this time with a better resume and strong references. And through a rigorous application process you finally land that job that will carry you through eternity.
So, class of 2010, Bella got what she ultimately wanted....and with patience and experience so will you. Congratulations.

I absolutely loved this! My daughter loves the movies. I love the books. I'm Team Edward. She's Team Jacob. What a way to get the point across to the graduates of 2010. Great job!
