For once you've angered me, Melissa. How do you know the person in the first picture doesn't have a foot condition that prevents her walking? How do you know the person in the car doesn't have a problem that prevents them walking the dog and they don't have a wheelchair?

I get pissed because I have a disease that is fusing my spine and causing me to lose my ability to walk so I'm in a wheelchair. BUT because I've gained weight while using the chair people see a fat woman in a wheelchair and assume I'm in the wheelchair because I'm fat. Don't make assumptions without knowing someone's story. YOU should know better than that. Do you know how hurtful people are when you're different? Yes, you do. Until you've heard them laugh at you to your face or yell at you in a grocery store for being in a wheelchair for a disease you can't help having, though, you can't possibly know what it's like to NOT walk a mile in someone else's shoes.

I usually love you and everything you say but you get a big fat F this time. Maybe that's why I'm the first comment on something you posted two days ago?

I've seen the first photo discussed before, the woman riding the Segway has a prosthetic leg. It can hardly be considered bad taste to post these photos, which at first glance epitomize American laziness. Melissa doesn't deserve to be attacked. Seriously, are you oblivious to all of the good things she has used her position to support?
